No, that is not a picture of me!! It's the unforgettable Richard Gill who is a leading light in music appreciation and education. The World According to James will be the first guest ensemble for a special series of concerts - Richard Gill Presents - A Voyage of Musical Discovery. A unique concert series at the City Recital Hall in Sydney exploring Western art music. Across three concerts, Richard Gill AO and the world-class musicians of the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra seamlessly weave their passion for historical context into musical performance. Beloved works of the musical canon are revitalised through the sounds of period instruments and stylistically appropriate performance practice. Our vibrant journey is complemented by our guest ensembles, who perform music from Medieval through Jazz to Contemporary exploring the commonalities and divergence's of each genre.

I'm really, really looking forward to playing my suite of music, Tam O'Shanter Tales and new compositions from Paul Cutlan and Gary Daley and also compositions from Andrew Robson and Fabian Hevia at Foundry 616 with my ensemble Greening from Ear to Ear. This is some band I can tell you. We are going to have a ball so why don't you join us. It's infectious, in a good way!

Ten Part was one of the first bands I was asked to join when I arrived in Sydney. It has had such a profound effect on my development and understanding of jazz. It's a big small ensemble, with all the intimacy that offers with a seriously huge V10 of power and groove under the bonnet. Always a great night - “TPI’s splendid music results from Pochee’s giving some of Australia’s most promising jazz composers the opportunity to experiment and develop their sound. Named Best Australian Jazz Ensemble at the 2015 Bell Awards, Mike Nock’s all-star large ensemble returns to the Foundry616 stage for a night of the exceptional music Mike Nock is renowned for. This guy is a living legend.
Nocktet features both established artists and recognisable exceptional younger players – keeping, as John Shand (Sydney Morning Herald) puts it, “an eye to the future as well as the rear-view mirror“, something Mike Nock is renowned for.

The catholics have been blending jazz with dance rhythms from around the world since their founding in 1991 by Lloyd Swanton. We're doing it again 17 MARCH at the BONDI PAVILLION - this promises to be a great night for dancing to some of your favourite catholics grooves.
